About Us

We’re a collection of pet resort owners and professionals across finance, HR, operations, and pet services that have come together to build something greater than the sum of its parts. For us, pets are family, and we believe they should have top tier service providers working together to ensure the highest quality of care.

Our Story

In 2018, our founders Azhar Quader and Eyal Cohen worked to build a 14 unit veterinary and pet services company across New York City and Denver. Azhar teamed up with the founding veterinarians to build a platform where he raised capital, recruited executives, implemented top tier financial reporting, acquired multiple locations, and built new locations, and raised capital.
Eyal joined Azhar to help launch the pet day care division called “Waggers”. At the outset he was often on the ground scooping poop and caring for animals. In 2021, they sold their business to NVA, the largest owner of veterinary clinics and pet resorts in America. Eyal joined NVA as their Director of Acquisitions in North America, where he supported their growth. He learned both the good and the bad of how a large organization like NVA buys and supports pet resorts.
After several years, they wanted to take those learnings, focus on pet resort businesses and pet services, and do it again. So the gang got back together and Pet Resort Hospitality Group was born.
Azhar and Eyal saw that many of the larger companies acquiring pet resorts were “consolidators”, buying up as many resorts as quickly as possible, and doing little to support their continued growth and operations over the long term. The consolidators are buying resorts for cashflow, growing for the sake of growth, and often leaving managers and employees to fend for themselves post-transaction.
They knew they could build a company of top independent brands with great corporate support, and it could transform the pet care industry. So in 2023, they set out on a mission to partner with 6 leading Pet Resorts across the US and created Pet Resort Hospitality Group.
Today, they’ve partnered with some of the leading pet resorts in America. They’re giving these operators a leg up on the competition through marketing, hiring, HR, finance, and operational support. Above all, they’re caring for thousands of pets every day, improving their lives and the lives of their parents.

Paws 'n' Rec

Paws ‘n’ Rec, the market leader in pet services in Tampa Bay. Owners Mike Mayleben and Taylor Wallace are experts in Daycare memberships and are helping us support daycare growth across the organization. 

Playtime

Playtime Pet Resort is a leader in the Philadelphia area with a focus on high end facilities and top quality care. Owners Dan Gardner and Cheri Griffiths are supporting the growth of our new units.

Meadowlake

Meadowlake Pet Resort and Training Center is one of the most trusted pet care brands in Houston. Owner Carroll Ray is a well known name in the pet resort industry, speaking at countless tradeshows and advising other top tier pet resorts around the country. She partnered with PRHG so her team and executive Manager Laura Koch could continue growing the business after she retired. Laura is now helping support our operations.

Olde Towne

Olde Towne Pet Resort has some of the highest end facilities in the country in the DC metro area. They spare no expense when it comes to taking care of pets, and their team is helping us to think through how to manage our business at scale.

Williamsburg

Todd/Mandy Rowley are third generation owners of Williamsburg Pet Hotel and Suites in St Louis, MO. They would not trust their family legacy to anyone that doesn’t have experience and knowledge in this industry. The team at PRHG is elevating the general manager’s skills to round out her personal and professional growth.

Play All Day

Amanda Field built 5 locations in the NH/MA area called Play All Day Doggy Daycare. Amanda wanted a partner that could support her staff and her brand’s expansion across the north east.
